This is my first venture into what I consider a mid range cable considering what you can pay for high end cables in the hi-fi world. However when I met Mr Humayun of Unity Audio, while picking up a set of high quality set of spades that I needed for my REL subwoofers and we started to chat about audio stuff, Omer offered me to try out a set of Cancer Fighter premium interconnects to try out in my system with my Graham Slee Reflex M connecting a Rega Planar 3 with Exact cartridge to an Adcom GFP-555 Mk2 preamp’s aux input feeding a matching Adcom GFA-535 Mk2 finally connected to a pair of Vandersteen model 1 speakers ( these are likely around 30 years old , I know the speakers are at least 33 years old, they were my brothers… he purchased them from a guy in Colorado Springs when he was in the military,….and finally connected through Audioquest Rocket speaker cable and a generic set of interconnects. Other than the turrntable this is pretty vintage stuff.
I have always resisted spending a lot of money for cables, especially interconnects that sometimes can cost more than actual components! To make a long story a bit shorter, after a week of a few listening sessions with some of my favourite records, I concluded that I could not go back to my other generic cables. That says a lot about these cables, I’m not good at describing sound with words, but to me the sound opened up and had a visceral quality that was missing with my other cables, Having the chance of listening to the cable in my own system helped me make up my mind. I have been listening to some records and every time it makes me smile.
I haven’t had the chance to listen as much as I would have liked to…my son seems to be hogging the system listening to his own stuff lately, what’s with that!
I’m now saving to upgrade my speaker cables with some Cancer Fighter SL speakers cables and start to Canadianize my system.
Awesome reasonably priced product, Highly recommended!
